ABOUT ME

Therapy is not about fixing something broken. It is about understanding the whole house and finding out which doors you are finally ready to open.

UNTIL 2021

Where it all began

Born and raised in Delhi, I grew up in a household that both shaped my beliefs and gave me space to form new ones. I studied Psychology at the University of Delhi, followed by a Master's in Clinical Psychology all while working. Those years of juggling study, work and life taught me early that people carry a great deal and do it quietly. Delhi gave me my roots and my curiosity.

The city that gave me everything

I moved to London to study the Systemic approach at the Tavistock and Portman NHS. Alongside my studies, I spent three years as a Health & Wellbeing Coach in NHS primary care. It confirmed what I had always believed: there is no one way to be human, and no one way to heal.

A new beginning with full hands

Amsterdam fascinated me long before I arrived. I moved here in November 2025 and brought my private practice with me. After 9 years in this work, Ghar Within is what I always wanted to build- warm, honest, and big enough for your whole story.

MY VISION

What I believe about this work

Therapy is not about fixing something broken. It is about understanding the whole house — and finding out which doors you are finally ready to open.

1

You are never just one room

A systemic approach means we look at the whole of you the relationships that shaped you, the family patterns passed down through generations, the roles you were handed before you could choose them. Everything connects.

2

Every person needs a different door

There is no one-size approach here. Some people need space to talk. Others need to understand patterns. Others need to act. I follow what is true for the person in front of me not a fixed protocol.

3

The system, not the symptom

I don't believe in labelling people as problems to be solved. Anxiety, burnout, conflict these are signals from a system. When we understand the system, the signal starts to make sense. And then it can change.

This work is for everyone

I am rooted in my own story and culture and that informs everything I bring to this room. But this practice is for any person, from any background, who is ready to look honestly at their life.

  • I worked with Tisya during a period when I was dealing with anxiety, burnout, and challenges in maintaining healthy relationships. What stood out most was her structured and practical approach, which helped me clearly understand and frame my issues rather than feel overwhelmed by them. The exercises she shared after each session were especially valuable, giving me tools I could actively use to manage anxiety in real situations. Over time, I’ve noticed a meaningful shift in how I handle day-to-day stress. I feel calmer, more aware, and better equipped to navigate difficult moments. I would highly recommend Tisya to anyone who appreciates a thoughtful, structured approach to therapy and is looking for tangible progress.

  • I initially came to therapy because I wanted to grow as a person, become more introspective, regulate my emotions better, and find a sense of direction in my life. What I found most helpful was your approach- you didn’t give me answers directly, but instead guided me to find them within myself. The way you asked questions and spoke made it really easy for me to connect with you, and it helped me dig deeper and understand things on my own in a meaningful way. My experience was really positive. Over time, I learned a lot about myself- things I still carry with me today. The skills I’ve developed continue to help me better understand my thoughts, emotions, reactions, and behaviours in every situation. I would highly recommend you to someone I care about- the impact has been lasting and genuinely valuable.

  • I found myself stuck in a constant fight-or-flight state, both mentally and physically. Therapy became a path back to feeling safe within my own body, and to truly seeing and accepting myself as the woman I am. It has also been about taking accountability for my flaws while learning to love and appreciate the parts of me that deserve compassion. You’ve always gently guided me back to self-love. Your ability to validate my emotions and hold space for them has helped me reconnect with my own inner light. The safe, non-judgmental space you create allows me to show up fully raw and honest which is incredibly liberating. Like you once said, the deepest work in therapy is done by the client, and I now truly believe that with the right guidance and compassion, we all have the ability to grow and bloom in the most beautiful ways. This journey has also deepened our connection. I feel we now meet more from the heart. Therapeutic and cathartic. It has been a space where I can express everything from everyday thoughts to the deepest emotions, including tears without hesitation. That level of openness wouldn’t have been possible without the safe environment you’ve created.

  • I was struggling to adjust to relocating to a new country and a new job. It was having a tremendous impact on my mental health and I felt I needed to address it before it got worse. I found a healthy outlet to talk about my thoughts and feelings and learned to manage them better. It has been helpful to have a mental health check-in ~2 times a month. It helps me to be in touch with what I'm going through at the time and to work on understanding myself better so I can continuously improve my mental wellbeing. I have learned a fair amount of things about myself through these sessions.

  • I came to Tisya feeling quite scattered and stretched thin like I was holding too many versions of myself at once. I was navigating a difficult marriage, anxiety and other health issues, caring 24x7 for my dementia-ridden mother, mothering a child, moving cities and jobs, writing a book while juggling other professional work, and trying to understand my ADHD brain. It was a lot to carry, and I didn’t quite know how to hold it all anymore. I was on the verge of a breakdown.Having a space where I didn’t have to perform or “figure it out” immediately helped a lot. Tisya helped me slow down, notice patterns, and sit with things without rushing to fix them. It’s been over four years of regular therapy with her, and I’ve become more compassionate with myself. Not everything in life has neat or perfect solutions, but within me, a quiet sense of clarity and self-trust has been building. This has helped me navigate my day-to-day work and life with more steadiness. Steady, grounding, and gently confronting in the right ways. It didn’t feel dramatic or overwhelming more like something slowly settling into place over time. Tisya is a deeply empathetic listener, and also offers thoughtful suggestions (often with reading recommendations which I personally appreciate as someone who is very curious). I’ve already recommended Tisya to a few people in my circle. More broadly, it’s especially helpful for anyone who feels overwhelmed, is holding a lot emotionally, or is trying to make sense of themselves while navigating complex life situations. The only clause: you have to be willing to show up honestly even if you don’t yet have the word.

  • A personal episode made me realise I need help beyond what my friends and family can provide. I realised I needed some professional help to solve something. Always wanted to take the leap, 2020 is when I didn't really have a choice. Being in therapy has helped me understand 75% of me. I know I will keep evolving but reaching a 75 has been the hardest part of my evolution process. You have helped me come so far. I really appreciate taking a step back when something major or even minor happens in life and I am able to navigate it in the truest way possible. I also don't think I have ever been so honest with anyone in my life. it has been beautiful and I won't change anything about it. Even the hard bits when I had to show up every week and cry A LOT.

  • A lot was happening in my family life (my parents were getting divorced during Covid), and at some point I just didn’t know what else to do or how to deal with it. I think going to therapy for the first time pretty much came from desperation to not feel the way I always did. And then it became a positive way for me to deal with my feelings. I think the first shift was to be able to express myself and just be angry (which I think I was for a reasonably long amount of time). And then you let me sort of get sick of being angry, or realize that I wanted to be a bit more forgiving and understanding and improve myself too. I think the shift to actually understand my parents and build better relationships with them was really important for me. My experience has been great, honestly. In the grander scheme of things I think I had a pretty small complaint with life in the first place, and I learnt a lot by working through it with your help. I think I’m able to take a step back at times and think in a more positive way due to our work together, and I can’t thank you enough for that. Absolutely. I think I already have, more than I should perhaps! Maybe it doesn’t work for all, but I personally have a bias that it can work if one is honest with their therapist.

  • I wanted to say a massive thank you for your support last year, I will always be grateful for empathy, your ability to walk in my shoes. You role-modelled such good behaviours without judgement, you really are very special person, I feel lucky to have met you. I appreciated your detailed ending, the notes you took. It really showed me your passion, how much you cared, and the amount of energy you put into our sessions. Thanks again for all of your hard work, I had a wonderful Christmas on my own and enjoyed lots of healthy food in my own way. You are a massive part of that success, so I just wanted to let you know.
